About Us

Our Story

Founded in April 2023, Happy Quills was established out of a shared love for these enchanting creatures and a deep commitment to their welfare. Since our inception, we've embarked on a mission to provide a second chance at happiness for african pygmy hedgehogs, long eared hedgehogs and tenrecs.

Foster Success

Since 2023, our foster program has flourished, extending our care to a diverse array of species, including African pygmy hedgehogs, long-eared hedgehogs, and lesser tenrecs. With dedication and passion, we've expanded our fostering team to encompass 16 foster carers, strategically positioned across the UK. This growth ensures that we can offer support and sanctuary to animals in need throughout the country. For those interested in adopting one of our beloved foster animals, they can explore our website's relevant page to view the available companions seeking forever homes.

Claire

I’ve had hedgehogs since 2014 (yikes!) and fostering for about 9 years now. It all started earlier than that when an ex had a hog and I ended up researching to help out…

I’m the human behind The Hoghouse, which started as a hobby but grew into something else.
